Projects

Experience applied to real projects

Every project requires a different combination of product development, manufacturing, quality, documentation and logistics.

Cosmetics and personal care

Context
A Spanish personal care brand already selling in retail and online that wanted to manufacture its own line in Asia instead of buying catalogue product.
Need
Move from a product idea and a few visual references to a manufacturable line, with its own packaging and the documentation required to sell legally in the European Union.
Development
Translating the brief into technical specifications, sourcing and comparing factories with experience in cosmetics for Europe, managing samples and adjusting format, materials and finishes until the reference sample was approved.
Production
Prior audit of the selected factory, sign-off of technical and packaging sheets, control of the production calendar and direct follow-up in Chinese with the factory team.
Quality and compliance
Review of the documentation required from the manufacturer, verification of labelling against European requirements and coordination with the client's appointed compliance contact before authorising shipment.
Logistics
Order consolidation, choice of transport mode according to lead time and volume, preparation of import documentation and coordination with customs clearance through to warehouse delivery.
Markets
Spain and the European Union.
Outcome
The client now has its own line manufactured to its specifications, a single point of contact for product, quality, documentation and transport, and a repeatable process for future reorders.

Home, houseware and decoration

Context
A European distributor buying through intermediaries, with no visibility over who actually manufactured its products or over the cost structure.
Need
Reach factories directly, stabilise quality between orders and gain control over lead times and costs without setting up its own office in China.
Development
Analysis of the existing range, identification of the references with most room for improvement and selection of alternative manufacturers with real capacity for the product type and volumes involved.
Production
Direct negotiation in Chinese of prices, terms and lead times, definition of finish standards per reference and production follow-up with regular reporting to the client.
Quality and compliance
In-process and pre-shipment inspection against acceptance criteria agreed in writing, so issues are corrected at the factory rather than on arrival.
Logistics
Planning of consolidated shipments, prior review of commercial and customs documentation and transit follow-up through to receipt.
Markets
Spain and other European Union markets.
Outcome
The distributor now works with identified, vetted factories, written quality criteria and a predictable replenishment calendar, reducing the issues that previously appeared when goods were unpacked.

Import blocked on arrival

Context
A company that had handled a purchase in China on its own and whose goods were held on arrival due to documentary and conformity issues.
Need
Understand the exact cause of the block, put the relationship with the factory and the operators involved back in order and recover the operation without damaging the commercial relationship.
Development
Full review of the file: order, agreed specifications, documentation issued by the manufacturer and previous communications between the parties.
Production
Direct dialogue with the factory in Chinese to correct the deficient documentation and to set out in writing what had to accompany any subsequent shipment.
Quality and compliance
Verification that the product and its labelling met the applicable requirements before resuming the process, with documented criteria for future orders.
Logistics
Coordination with the freight forwarder and customs broker until release of the goods, and definition of a stable documentary circuit for following shipments.
Markets
Spain.
Outcome
The operation was unblocked and the client moved to a defined documentary procedure before each shipment, preventing the issue from recurring.
